The Ballet. The Beauty. The Tears.

Went to see the Kirov ballet interpretation of La Bayadere - yesterday. It was so beautiful. The third act especially - moved me to tears - not the story but the sheer beauty of it. I don't think I've ever been moved to tears by an art form in and for itself. Quite the experience! This photo is a picture from the third act. I now understand my ballet teachers frustration at seeing me flop around :-)

New Zealand.

There have been so many devastating pictures coming out of NZ this week in the aftermath of the earthquake...so I thought I would post some pics from my trip there to see my family - all okay. This is the beauty of NZ. Have a great weekend lovelies and will have some good pics from this interesting weekend I'm about to have. Will tell all laters. Cheers.

A world of friends.

One of the greatest things about traveling for your job is that you meet people all over the world, and sometimes over the years you get to know them and you become friends. This was sent to me from a friend in Italy, this was taken as the sun was rising this morning. Belissimo!

Obsessing over clothes.

Just realizing that this will be the third post about clothes. Must be the thought of ripping off boots, mits and scarves, and slipping into some peekaboo heels that's bringing this on. This IS how to wear black. Fab.

Double post as I neglected over the weekend. Most fabulous photo. Style at any age.

This woman is not 60, not 70 but in her 80s. The trench is fab, the shoes are cute. I hope I have a sense of style in my 80s.

Victoria Beckham

You may not like her, but she's actually a pretty smart lady and I really do love her clothes. The construction and minimalist nature... bravo.

Did you know that this concept has been around for 2000 years - it's from scripture - amazing

Mt 6: 31 & 34

Who of you by worrying can add a single hour to his life?... Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.

Ahhh Denmark

I guess in this cold February I am pining about being someplace else. Here are some pics from Danish Peter that he took of the countryside around his cottage. We are still good friends and I've spent many days up in Mols where these were taken.

So thought we'd warm up with some of my favorite pics from Israel. Probably a once in a lifetime trip but would go back. So beautiful. Hope you are keeping warm.

Valentine

By the time Valentine's day comes around, the only thing I am wishing for is an early spring, so I bought some tulips yesterday wishing they would be popping up from the ground. But will have to wait a few more months for that. So on this day that's turned into hearts and chocolate remember that there is all kinds of love, your friends, your family...and that that kind of love knows no bounds. Cheers.

From the Archives

Stayed in the city this weekend so pulled this from the archives.

This is a picture of one of my paintings, which has been played with in photo shop. Looks much better than the original. Hope you're all having a lovely weekend.

Love this quote, for obvious reasons.

And I am feeling particularly testy at being separated from the one I love by the most dreary of practical exigencies, money when I want only to lean on my elbow and stare into space feeling the one warm beautiful thing in the world breathing upon my right rib

From “Les Luths” by Frank O'Hara (1926-1966)

This picture makes me smile. Hope it makes you smile too.

White, white, white

I love the white and vintage style of this photo. Would love to decorate the cottage like this, but with an all white condo, I don't think hubby could handle it :-)

Tacky or Nice?

My various chains were getting all tangled, so I finally caved and bought one of these jewelery holders. I say caved, because I always thought most of them were kind of tacky. This one isn't so bad, but still not convinced.
